This is a short song I wrote for my 2nd story collection, The Blood Of Tyrants anthology.
Surrender not to despair,
for our futures will be fair.
Fear not the stately thugs,
know they are less than bugs.
Forget not the olden days,
when the tyrants lost their lives!
Hollow minds and empty souls,
our oppressors feed us tiny doles.
Know the bureaucrats are corpulent,
Upon our flayed backs they live lives so opulent.
Forget not the olden days,
when the tyrants lost their lives!
Deny the state its bloody due,
realize their authority is untrue.
On the day of the revolt,
become as fearsome as a ghost!
You don't get a lot of poems about the state, which is funny (you'd think they would be more popular). Great to read. I like the repetition.
Wow, this has passion. Their songs certainly almost sounds like a battle cry.
